2018 Dodge Earns Title of Official Winter SUV from Automotive Writers
When it comes to driving, no season presents more daunting driving and road conditions than winter. Cold, blustery weather and icy roads make driving difficult and potentially dangerous, so it’s of the utmost importance to be prepared and have a good vehicle on your side. At Kevin’s Royal Auto, we were thrilled to hear that the 2018 Dodge Durango was named the official Winter SUV of the Year at the annual New England Motor Press Association Winter Vehicle Driving Event, establishing itself at the forefront of winter traveling and capability on the road. In addition, the FCA brand, which includes Jeep® and Ram, took home more awards than any other manufacturer at the event.
To determine the winner of such a prestigious title as the Winter SUV of the Year, NEMPA judges evaluated a comprehensive range of criteria and put the Durango up against other leading vehicles in the industry. Ultimately, however, the Durango proved unbeatable.
“The Durango has the ability to handle everything New England weather can throw at it. With seating for up to seven, engine choices that can satisfy just about any buyer and the ability to negotiate roads less traveled, the Durango was the clear choice for the NEMPA Official Winter SUV of the Year,” said John Paul, the NEMPA president.
The 2018 Durango comes equipped with a standard, award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine and offers an available 6.2-liter HEMI® V8 engine that delivers a whopping 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Durango also offers two available all-wheel drive system (which depend upon your engine choice) that work to maximize traction, control, stability, and handling in a wide variety of road conditions, including snowy and icy winter conditions. In addition, the Durango’s standard electric power steering strives to create superior driving dynamics, helping you out in the wintertime.
