How Ford EcoBoost® works
EcoBoost® technology is made up of hundreds of thousands of lines of code, all of which are vital to optimizing powertrain performance. The system is made up of three primary technologies: direct fuel injection, twin-independent variable cam timing, and turbocharging.
Direct fuel injection makes the most of every drop of fuel by misting gas directly into the combustion chamber. There, it’s combined with oxygen to create a small explosion that generates power.
